Gender

Why consider gender in extension?

Gender - often interpreted as "the role of women" - is always important but more so when women - though important in an activity - are excluded from discussions and decision-making and/or denied access to services (e.g., credit, or information access); services that would enhance their opportunities to advance. Issues to consider

1. How and where can women better access
  • Technical information
  • Market prices
  • Credit
2. Literacy levels for accessing information

3. Social standing - How can women attend important meetings and/or better participate in decision making.
